We acknowledge that each individual person’s healthcare needs are unique, and that his/her health status may change at any time during the year. For this reason we offer you a plethora of medical benefits, which you may buy, in order to extend your cover. Wellness

Chroniline – Chronic Condition Management Programme

As an RMA member, you can join the chronic condition management programme, ChroniLine, at no extra cost! ChroniLine will help you manage your chronic condition(s), as well as assist you, your pharmacist and your doctor with the preferred medications to manage your condition and to lower levies and co-payments.

You, your pharmacist, or your doctor can register your chronic condition(s) on ChroniLine by contacting:

In order to qualify for the chronic benefits, each chronic condition needs to be registered once diagnosed. Unfortunately, the chronic benefits are not available on Premiere Care.

Maternity Benefit

RMA offers a Maternity Benefit like no other. All you have to do is register on the Maternity Programme, and you will be able to make use of the comprehensive maternity benefits available. The maternity benefit covers both prenatal and postnatal care, as well as the hospitalisation for birth. The benefit also covers the cost of at-home birth with a midwife!

The Maternity Benefit includes cover for up to 2 scans, 12 prenatal doctors’ consultations, amniocentesis, and 2 postnatal paediatrician consultations.

In the unfortunate event of miscarriage or the passing of the baby at birth, the Maternity Benefit will still cover any medical expenses incurred.

To register for the Maternity Benefit, contact:

Unfortunately, maternity benefits are only available to individuals after a period of 9 (nine) months from date of joining.

Medical Aid Benefit Builder

Each family or individual has unique medical requirements, therefore RMA offers add-on Benefit Builder options, which will cover certain medical expenses over and above that which your medical aid benefit option covers.

There are several different Benefit Builder options, with varied monthly contributions, depending on what your personal requirements may be for extra medical cover. The Benefit Builder options include cover for day-to-day medical costs such as general medical expenses, medication, dentistry, optical, and transport & accommodation.

At the end of the benefit year, if you have not used all of the benefits in your Benefit Builder, 80% of the unused benefits will roll-over into your Benefit Wallet, to be used in the following benefit year. The remaining benefits will roll-over months after the end of the benefit year, to account for any outstanding claims that still need to be processed.

Unfortunately, the Benefit Builder options are not available on Premiere Care and Evolve Care.

Medical Aid Benefit Wallet

The RMA Benefit Wallet is a useful and innovative feature of the RMA medical aid scheme, and it has been one of the first of its kind in Namibia. It is a wallet for your accumulated unused benefits, if you have claimed less than your allocated threshold for the benefit year. The allocated threshold is an amount limit of your benefits, and should you claim less than that amount before the end of the year, the remaining amount will be transferred to your Benefit Wallet and can be used to cover further health care costs in the following benefit year. The transfer will take 4 months after the end of the benefit year, to account for potential outstanding claims from the previous year.

Your Benefit Wallet can also increase if you actively participate in wellness days to earn rewards, and 80% of your remaining Benefit Builder benefits will roll-over into the Wallet (again, after 4 months to account for outstanding claims from the previous benefit year).

You can use your Benefit Wallet to cover medical and health related expenses that normally would not be covered by your medical aid benefits. For example, you can purchase your nutritional supplements from a pharmacy, as long as it is registered with the HPCNA (Health Professionals’ Council of Namibia), and claim the cost back to be covered from your Benefit Wallet!

The Benefit Wallet is available for all RMA members on different product plans. Plus, you are able to view your Benefit Wallet balance in the palm of your hand with the RMA mobile app! Once you know your balance, you can plan and manage your health care costs along with your product benefits.

You can download the RMA mobile app today from the Play Store or the App Store.
